Listenise combines English dictation practice and English shadowing practice in one subtitle-based workflow. Dictation helps you notice the exact words and sounds you miss; shadowing lets you replay the same sentence, follow the transcript and practise rhythm, stress and pronunciation.
Listen to a sentence, type what you hear, compare your answer and review missing or incorrect words. This is useful for connected speech, weak forms and words you know in writing but fail to recognize in natural speech.

What files do I need?
For your own lesson, select one audio or video file and one matching SRT or VTT subtitle file. If you do not have files ready, use the built-in demo first.
Do I need to create an account?
No. The current beta lets you start local practice without an account.
Are my media files uploaded?
The normal local practice workflow uses the files you select directly in your browser. This keeps your personal media library on your device.
Can I use video as well as audio?
Yes. The practice page supports common audio formats and video such as MP4/WebM, together with matching subtitle timestamps.
